Although at times too abstract the book is a good discussion of historical writing. It is not an easy read but it is very rewarding. I was a better student of history after I read it.

Designed by "#millennial" women, inspiring for anyone

I don't think someone from my generation would have the imagination to design a book this way, or to include a photo feature about a Supreme Court Justice's "swag." But fundamentally this is a wonderful book about the difference an individual can make. The book's breezy style has a deeper and more serious significance, as well.

I was touched by many things in this book, not only the courage of Justice Ginsburg's opinions, or the loving handwritten note from her dying husband, but even by the photos illustrating her close friendship with Justice Scalia, one of her ideological opposites - it's rare to see such a mensh in these times. The format is terrifically creative for this sort of subject: the NY Times reviewer aptly described it as being "as if a scrapbook and the Talmud decided to have a baby." The latter comes in especially for the way the book's margins are used for commenting on everything -- not just for the obvious connections to a Justice who is Jewish. (Apropos of that, though, one thing did puzzle me: the recipe for pork in milk at the back. Breaking two of the Jewish religion's food taboos at once -- isn't that a little gangsta? Was that the idea, or is the whole thing a joke? And actually, one other thing: the publisher's subject classification on the back cover is "Fiction." Aside from the recipe, I hope not.)

I now live in Japan and teach comparative constitutional law there. Pretty much no one, including most law professors, can name the justices of the Japan Supreme Court, who are chosen for their anonymity, their conformity to a certain social background, and their timidity of thought. And throughout its nearly 70-year existence, the JSC has always upheld laws and regulations that limit civil rights. One reason I got this book was to be able to show my students how completely different the relationship between a country's Supreme Court and its citizens can be. In most countries of the world, a book like this would be inconceivable. While I'm not saying that many other Justices deserve such a tribute, this book should be a great reminder for Americans how lucky you are not only to have Justice Ginsburg, but also to be capable of such affectionate engagement with your government.

Fantastic portrait of a warrior for justice.

This is a remarkable portrait of a warrior for human rights, equal rights and human dignity.

Justice Ginsburg is proof you don't have to be tall to be a giant. When we look back I believe her appointment
to the Court by Bill Clinton will be seen as one of his greatest accomplishments.

If you want to find out what the Court is up to in any given decision, read Justice Ginsburg.

Don't be fooled by the calm quiet demeanor. She is a ferocious advocate for the best that is in us as a people
and a country.

I could not put this book down. The authors should be very proud of this fabulous book.

If you go to "righteous" in the dictionary , you will find Justice Ginsburg's picture.

Give this book to your sons and daughters this holiday season. You will be glad you did.

If I could give more than five stars I would. Ten would not be enough.

~~'A Little Chutzpah Goes a Long Way'~~

This is an incredible glimpse into the life of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Her mother told her that 'getting angry was a waste of your own time' and she carried that wisdom with her to the Supreme Court. Everything in her life has been done to the best of her ability and that includes her workout ethics (which are still ongoing). Just imagine giving up waterskiing in your late 70's!

A fascinating read which includes her educational background as well as her early work with the ACLU. Some of her Women's Rights Projects are detailed and one that caught my attention was the AF Nurse case in 1970. CAPT Strich was pregnant and refused to quit or get an abortion. Pregnant women were also given a general discharge instead of an honorable one. The book also delves into her time on the Supreme Court and covers that portion in depth including the influence of social media.

Many things struck me when reading this book. She referred to her marriage to Marty as her 'life partner'. It was an incredibly rich marriage for all of the right reasons and the note he left for her on June 17, 2010 was powerful and poignant. The second item that really caught my attention was the manner in which she values the work of her secretaries. Any of her clerks must value them as she does or they will answer to her. This is a true 'people person'. The tradition that occurs in the robing room and the look around her chambers are treasured glimpses into both areas.

At some point in the future, I will make RBG's favorite Marty Ginsburg's Recipe for pork loin braised in milk. Sounds delicious to me.

'Notorious RBG' illustrates that a little chutzpah goes a long way. An entertaining and educational read which gave me more information on the inner workings of our Supreme Court..

excellent book!

Ryan king's writing style is very fluid and flows excellently with just the right touch of humour.

I have been having issues selling my ebay parts recently and this book has really set me back on the right track, it's so easy to choose the wrong item and "Selling Auto Parts" is great at showing how to avoid that situation!

A long list of cars are included with a description of the important parts and whether its great to find or not.

Very useful book and perfect for anyone looking to start in this market!

Great informative guide on selling auto parts. Very well written and very neatly presented/put together. If i had to give advice to the author or give a negative, i would say, there could be more information regarding specific car parts. That area seemed rushed and its hard to get an idea of what the parts are, where they are located and what they look like. Maybe if some pictures were including above or below the part being described, it could be a bit more helpful, otherwise Great book!

This book presents a practical way to make money by selling used car parts. Not just any car parts though. The author shows how to survey sales channels to determine what parts are popular sellers based on specific brands of cars. Sourcing the parts is discussed as well. The main source of parts are auto recycling facilities. BMW and Mercedes are top brands to source for. Emblems, wheel spinners, gear shift handles, door handles. All small parts that are easy to ship. After doing this for a few months I now have specific things I am looking for, for each brand. My local recyclers web site allows me to get notifications when those parts are on newly arrived wrecks. If you have a bit of aptitude and are perhaps a bit obsessed with cars, this can turn into a nice sideline.

Here we have the story of Crystal. She is the ugly duckling turned beautiful swan. She is a librarian. She has an overbearing mother who only thinks of herself. She puts down her daughter so that she can feel good and younger about herself. The fairy godmother would be her stylist, named Ziggy. She is a brand new hire in the salon Crystal books an appointment for. Her prince, well he would be, Mario. He is an escort. He is extremely hot. He does not sleep with the women who hire him. He just accompanies them to the events. In a comedic turn of events she asks him, "how much?" and he responds by laughing. He states that it depended on what was to be done. He really likes her though. Great first book. I truly want to find out what happens next. Can't wait.

The first part of the story is about Crystal Calhoun, she's a librarian in her mid twenties and dresses very conservatively. Her mother Sylvia on the other hand dresses very provocatively, she's trying to land a very wealthy man. In fact her mom has a date with Mario a young super hot guy, when he comes to pick her up he meets Crystal and her mother says she's my sister, as if! After they leave, crystal thinks she needs a change. Read this story it will make you very wet, and wanting more!

She is a Visiting Fellow at the University of Huddersfield, a Vice-Chair of the Environment and Sustainability Forum at the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transportation and gained an MSc in Logistics from Cranfield University. Catherine's background includes Industrial Engineering in manufacturing and retail distribution, logistics solution design, project management, business intelligence, logistics product development and supply chain consulting. Her career covers food, fashion and logistics, including Tesco Distribution, Kellogg Company, and DHL Supply Chain.

The importance of reading different perspectives on a topic

In reading A Circular Economy Handbook for Business and Supply Chains: Repair, remake, redesign, rethink by Catherine Weetman, I was reminded the importance of people taking completely different approaches to a topic. In the case of the Circular Economy Handbook, I was caught completely off guard by her deep and pervasive focus on the environment, renewable resources, and social value.

There will always be a recycling component to any discussion of circular economies because they embrace a move away from ‘linear’ production and resource utilization models where goods have a limited useful life and become waste once they reach the end of it. For example, Weetman’s study of the amount of water required to feed a rapidly growing population (1 litre per calorie), raises the stakes for anyone who is only looking a circular model for cost reasons.

Today procurement is primed to seize upon the idea of the circular economy. We’re already buying everything as a service, even though much of it was already a service, just provided under different circumstances or a different title. Why not take the flexibility and efficiency of –aaS and apply that to straight product categories.

In a circular economy, materials are chosen for their availability (influenced most by how renewable they are) and recyclability. Companies buy outcomes rather than products. An example Weetman offers up is the difference between buying a lightbulb and signing a contract with a company who will provide ‘illumination’. It is access rather than ownership – something that agile companies increasingly recognize as key to creating and sustaining a competitive advantage. And with the all-important need to reduce waste (both because of the rising cost of disposal as well as for more altruistic reasons), the circular model provides an opportunity to reduce costs and shrink the footprint of a company’s impact on the environment.

Speaking of environment, Weetman often returns to biological examples and terminology to drive home the importance of the ‘circle of life’ to corporate operational health. There are biological (plant and animal derived) and technical (oil, metals) ‘nutrients’ that feed companies in the circular economy. And then there are ‘novel compounds’ man-made combinations or chemical creations that neither occur naturally nor can be recycled, or in some cases separated, at the end of their natural life.

If you find yourself feeling skeptical that the ROI of the circular economy is worth it, skip straight to page 344 for the business case. While some industries will be affected sooner or more than others – with a heavy emphasis on categories such as fuel and metals – these materials are present somewhere in every supply chain. Better to be prepared too early than too late.

Many will be familiar with the term “the Circular Economy” but perhaps far fewer will know what it really means. Within the general business and supply chain context the author seeks to give – through this book – practical guidance as to how it works to benefit companies-at-large.

Built around real-world case studies from many well-known companies, theory and good practice are seamlessly mixed in to show how one may migrate from a supply chain to a supply cycle. Just one changed word can make a world of difference. You don’t even need to be deeply entrenched within the supply chain sector to gain great knowledge from this book, although being able to practically implement matters surely would be the icing on the cake.

Of course, there is no one rigid formula to approach to change a chain to a cycle. Each business and industry sector will have differing requirements, even if the headline cycle may appear the same, so different models, trends, requirements and frameworks can be examined and considered through this relatively compact, yet powerful book.

The author has done a good job in making this book accessible to readers on all levels, its open style works with academic references and influences. The reader may, if desired, dig deeper whilst being a light-ish read for everybody else. It manages to cover a lot of information within a few pages to great aplomb.
